Stars to Stories – February 2020 Horoscopes

written by Laura Paul February 1, 2020

Scroll down for horoscopes by sign and read for your ascendant or rising sign if possible.

(If you’re curious to find your rising sign, go to astro-seek.com. After you enter your birth information look to the left of the circle to the line that says ASC. If you’re intrigued, confused, or both intrigued and confused you can email me at starstostories@gmail.com for a consultation.)

Aries

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 12th house of isolation, solitude, and endings. This creates an opportunity for you to take a liberating view of retreat, even if it’s a simple as instituting a daily meditation practice through the end of March. Are you able to find internal solace even if there are romantic and creative partners asking for your attention? It’s helpful to know when and how you can rest easy within yourself, even if you’re concurrently being bid on to be part of the crowd. If you’re celebrating a career change this month, it’s normal to feel a since of sadness as you move on to what’s new and unfamiliar.

Taurus

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 11th house of friendship, organizations, and the rewards from your career. You may feel some very real shake-ups going on within the organizations you belong to and that may affect beliefs you hold surrounding your career. February 23rd, in particular, could be a frustrating day—and if known losses occur to what you’ve considered certain, be sure to give yourself extra time to process and rest. The long view could help, as well as confiding in a friend you trust about the unexpected situation you’re enduring.

Gemini

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 10th house of career, public standing, and that which is most visible about you out in the world. Are you altering your image or having to edit through the ambitions and endeavors you’ve set out for yourself? Rethinking the ways in which you work? The best time to reboot your goals and aspirations would be in the last week of the month—although it would be prudent to give yourself plenty of time to reconsider and tinker with plans through the end of March.

Cancer

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 9th house of belief, publishing, and foreign travel. There’s been a spiritualizing influence on you for a little over a year now, even if it’s as subtle as you getting more interested in what you hold to be true and why. This could be an especially interesting time to clarify to partners or close friends what you’ve been discovering in the metaphysical and symbolic realms lately. Are you considering opening up your thoughts and experiences with the more mysterious aspects of life?

Leo

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 8th house of debts, fears, and merging. This is one of the more hidden places in your chart, where deeply held horrors sometimes come up to be healed. If nothing else, it’s good to start looking ahead to and doing some careful planning if you have complicated taxes or loans—not that it has to be scary! If you’ve been trying to consolidate with a business or romantic partner, now would be a fitting time to reexamine how you both negotiate your joint resources. Make sure you have a good support network to confide in about any anxieties that pop up.

Virgo

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 7th house of partnerships, enemies, and others. Especially towards the last week of the month, there will be a lot of focus on who it is you want to align with and what connections may have to weaken in order to give more space and time to what comes next. If romantic or artistic endeavors have taken on extra seriousness and weight, consider what it is you might need to pivot away from in order to create a fresh new start surrounding relationships.

Libra

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 6th house of health habits, pets, or employees. Since it’s still the beginning of the new year, now would be a great time to try out some new wellness routines and set some structure to how you care for yourself and your animals. The best mindset would be to take an approach that is neither too rigid nor too loose—can you keep to a schedule without beating yourself up if you miss a day, or a week? Try to take the long view in mind. Most things in life are the accumulation of little efforts, even if you don’t see immediate results yet.

Scorpio

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 5th house of leisure, romance, and creativity. Hopefully this brings some merriment to your month, even The last week of the month in particular could hold some frustrating days, especially concerning a sibling or a lack of confidence you’ve been experiencing. Make sure not to overreact to another person’s opinions or take any statements too personally. Don’t say anything without some thought first. The situation might very well change before you’re able to make it clear what it is you think about such matters.

Sagittarius

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 4th house of home, family, and ancestry. Throughout the month, strong connections will be made between the money you earn and spend and the very spot that roots you to the physical ground. Around the 23rd, there may be sudden costs and expenditures that you’ll want to make towards your home or parents. You will have to weigh what has more value to you—possessions that give you comfort and a firm sense of security in place, or money in the bank.

Capricorn

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 3rd house of siblings, confidence, and local community. Something about this time period seems to be extremely connected to how you see yourself and why. Are changes to your neighborhood or family structure changing your sense of identity? Are you needing to shake up how you go about your relationships and what you do for fun? If your sense of self is feeling loss over an aspect of the past, find proper ways to honor and release it. If it’s painful to feel time passing, speak your sorrows to a steady witness or find some time to write yourself through it.

Aquarius

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 2nd house of writing, money, and possessions. There may be a private loss or challenge you’re facing, but it seems to be having a large, even if unconscious impact on how you’re spending your money. The last week of the month provides an opportunity to come up with ways to heal through what you feel a sense of ending over and how it is you can restructure your resources to better support yourself during this time. It doesn’t hurt to jot down your ideas into more coordinated plans.

Pisces

On February 17th, Mercury will go retrograde in your 1st house of self-image, appearance, and body. My guess is that you’ve been using the beginning of this year to reimagine how it is you want to be seen and to makeover what’s outdated about your perceptions. It seems that you’ve had some extra powerful friends or organizations you belong to influencing your ideas of individuality lately. The paradox is to take what it is you’re persuaded by through others and recreate it in your own fashion. Only internalize what it is you really want to be your own.
