Welcome back to another episode of Stars to Stories, I’m glad to have you here.
After the stoicism of winter comes the calamity of spring, thundering out of the frost and snow and ice and rain into the days of ever-growing sunlight.
We’re past the backward swim through the swamp that was March even if we’re still toweling off. Ideas, dreams, and plans will start to move forward as the light brings less confusion, more spontaneity, and hopefully some fun. Short-term goals will begin to go ahead while authority figures might still ask for you to review and return to the long view.
In the floods of March our health suffered, our time was elusive, chaotic and messy—many of us were taken down by big waves. This is what happens when our unconscious, when our spirit breaks through.
With the sun now in Aires, we will slowly and surely dry off our wings and rebuild our vital selves. But don’t think that running off spontaneously into the unmediated will be without consequences. Venus will play tag with Mercury at the beginning of the month, hopefully restoring our minds and judgments back to something a bit more connected and robust. However, we are not returning to the status quo—we’re morphing into expanded versions of whatever it is we dreamed. As we’ve just past the equinox point, summer will soon be shining her rays upon us, so mind what it is you want to grow.
Planting seeds is not the simple, polite occasion that Easter bunnies may inspire. Some seeds need to be eaten, awash with acid inside of the dark of an animal, something that conjures up the mythic tales of Pinocchio and Jonah. Other seeds crack open after being incinerated by wildfire only to create the most dramatic displays of birth and rebirth upon their fiery char. April will contain small bonfires spurred on by gusts of air. This elemental change is helpful, even if it could be an abrupt transition.
As you go about your sowing, I invite you all to use April to take stock before plans and plants are firmly rooted and on their way in the ground. But instead of checking off boxes in terms of rudimentary gains and losses, measure the health of these four areas: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual. For yourself, for your community. Are you denying one or the other? Have you not wanted to face the spiritual? The emotional? The mental? The physical? We’re all undoubtedly stronger in some areas than others, but that doesn’t grant us the right to flat out deny an aspect’s outright existence.
If our words and worlds are sick then how can we expect our bodies not to be? If we relegate one, or two, or all vital aspects to the sidelines then how can we fully be? Bring your whole self forward this month. Don’t abandon your past self, your future self, your present self. We need all the permeations of selfhood you have to offer.
With that said, I’m wishing you the best month April has to offer. Blessings to all who read these words, and may you feel guided by what’s beyond.

Happy Spring, Aries! If you find yourself being quick-lipped and impulsive this month, make sure to check in with yourself and your intuition to make sure you’re not adding unnecessary friction to a previous relationship. You may feel strong and unstoppable, but that doesn’t automatically mean you have the whole picture yet. Remember—there can be major differences between being capable of something, being right about something, and what ultimately benefits a situation. If you want things to last into the future be mindful of what’s holding things together.
Happy Spring, Taurus! Communication will be a focus this month, although that doesn’t necessarily mean that things will be precise and clear-cut. Even if movement finally surges forward with friends and finances, there still will be big revisions ahead. You might find yourself having more trouble discerning what is possible or even moderate enough to handle. Bear in mind that too much of a good thing is still too much and that things to good to be true may, in fact, be too true to ultimately be good. Take in the rewards when you get them, but some judgment could help.
Happy Spring, Gemini! Are you feeling back to yourself yet? It might take until mid-month to sense that you’ve returned to your usual clarity and speed. Before that happens though you might find yourself revisiting or slowing down a relationship issue, or something specific to your career. Are friends conflicting something you think about a partnership or work situation? How much do you care? Weigh these opinions carefully, but also keep in mind that tides may change again come mid-May when more energy will be put into your money and spending. The results will certainly come to show this summer.
Happy Spring, Cancer! Still feeling pulled in directions that are polar opposites? If you’re having a hard time determining what of yourself needs to be protected versus the needs of your partner or family, it’s to be expected. This year will continue to create new openings in your identity and close down parts of what you related to in the past. Maybe some of this are things you are writing, speaking, or thinking about in private. Give yourself the space and time you need to assimilate to changes and grow.
Happy Spring, Leo! School or speaking project with friends? You might ace it, but you also might have overestimated the resources it required. Act on your creativity and have fun with the challenges that emerge if you can. Work might feel slow or stalled, especially when it comes to money, taxes, or payments that need tending. Changing your mind on impulse may be to blame. If you’re having trouble determining how to proceed, consult a trusted, older advisor who may have the foresight and power to work through the stalls with you.
Happy Spring, Virgo! The sky still shows that you might be stalled in the muddy and vague waters of relationships again until about mid-month. Your focus has been pulled towards another person for quite some time now, although a boost of heightened communication might help to feel like you’re actually progressing forward. Any speed you feel at April’s opening will only get faster in the second half. If issues involving creativity or children have felt unusually stern or deep, some bright moments of lightness could come about mid-month, buckle up!
Happy Spring, Libra! It’s still all about how you relate to others, isn’t it? This month continues to intensify the transitions and revelations you have about what it means to be in a partnership, how to work by yourself versus with another, and generally, how to get along in the presence of company. You might be feeling a certain urgency to figure out your new worldview and test it out on an audience for size. If nothing else, hopefully, your day-to-day life will start to feel easier and lighter, even while you’re healing through the heavy stuff.
Happy Spring, Scorpio! Your ruler, Mars, will be lighter and freer in the sign of Gemini, even if there’s still some confusion or ungrounded inspiration over matters related to your creativity. Later in the month, there could be old issues with a sibling or neighbor that emerges, but overall, have fun with the harmony that washes in. You may be dealing with financial matters involving health spending in the second half of the month. If you’re feeling flummoxed, consult a friend. There may be the key to the solution held by another person—all you have to do is ask.
Happy Spring, Sagittarius! The new moon in Aires will hopefully bring heightened fun and pleasure for you before your ruler, Jupiter, goes retrograde for the next few months in the second week of April. For the slower moving planets, this won’t be quite as apparent and is an annual occurrence that provides the opportunity to rework longer-term goals involving, travel, beliefs, higher education, and publishing. There could be bright spots in your household involving a money matter come the middle of the month—by the 17th it should feel like matters are moving ahead. With luck, a buoyant feeling will emerge.
Happy Spring, Capricorn! Are deep things still churning up for you? Feel like you can’t catch a break? With luck, there is a beneficial rupture that could emerge with the full moon in Libra on the 19th. By the end of April, your ruler, Saturn, goes retrograde for the next few months. For the slower moving planets, this won’t be quite as apparent and is an annual occurrence. Hopefully, this will turn down the volume for you on the harsher aspects of your relation to your home, family, and elders. What needs to be purged may help you feel lighter and freer if you work with it right.
Happy Spring, Aquarius! Money matters still may be where the bulk of your attention is focused on, at least for the first half of the month. Looking for a new job? Trying to figure out what it is you want to be spending your time doing, and hopefully, enjoying? By the full moon in Libra on the 19th, something involving your career and living situation may become clearer, even if it’s a plan you hadn’t previously considered. Your ruler, Saturn, makes its annual retrograde at the end of April. Make sure to take yourself and your partners into consideration with whatever moves you plan on making this year.
Happy Spring, Pisces! Did March present you with the bigness of ideas, but also with the weariness that confusion brings? In April, Venus visits your sign, which should lend to a bit more connection and harmony. This month seems to be bringing extra energy and effort to your home and family, just before your ruler, Jupiter, goes retrograde in the second week of April. This month may just bring you to the finish line on an education, travel, or career-related effort, although this is not done so in a bubble. Something about your roots and past is intrinsically connected with how far you want to go.
