Hey all, we at Entropy are starting an annual award celebrating new voices that add to the brilliant entropy of literature and that “neglect internal statistical correlations in the overall particle distribution” of the chaos in writing. We’re seeking nominations from magazines and their editors for works from authors who’ve had their first to third essays and nonfiction pieces published from June 2014 to June 2015. We’re looking for published works and due to logistics, we’re limiting ourselves to online pieces, though we can be flexible if there’s digital versions available (apologies beforehand for not taking self-nominated works!). As it’s our first year for the Boltzmann Entropy Award, first prize will be a $25 Amazon gift card and there will be several finalists depending on the number of entries. The cut off date for nominations will be the end of August, and a panel of Entropy judges/editors will be making the decisions in the following months.
Please send submissions to peter@entropymag.or and janice@entropymag.org. Feel free to ping us with any questions, suggestions, and fortune cookie messages.
